For the development of automated driving, the environment perception with the help of camera, radar and lidar sensors is an important element. ZF develops and validates both the sensor technology and the underlying algorithms. AI is involved in many of these algorithms. Their analysis is an essential success factor for the introduction of the technology in serial production. Besides KI Delta Learning, ZF is also active in research projects such as KI Absicherung, KI Plattform, SETLevel4to5 and VVM – verification and validation methods.
In the KI Delta Learning project, ZF will focus on the challenges in embedded systems such as the evaluation of the effects of pruning or quantization. In the sub-project concerned with transfer learning, ZF will carry out studies on continuous learning and changing sensor and environmental conditions (e.g. day-night). Within the didactics sub-project, the focus will be on methods of semi- and unsupervised learning.
